ABOUT:
SIGA 7

SIPHO PHAKATHI, better known in the music scene as SIGA 7. Born and raised in and around the famous township of Soweto.

From a young age, SIGA 7 was musically influenced by Kwaito and House music compilations by various artists.

Later he along with friends fiddled with Disc Jocking software and started having small sessions to practice the art of Disc Jocking. They soon began sneaking out of their homes to attend every street-bash held in their neighborhood, hosting House-Parties and organizing Pens-Down Trips from which they gained recognition from.

Around the year 2010 SIGA 7 was introduced to music production software by a friend.

After completing High-school, Siege Phunk started saving and bought his own basic DJ equipment bit by bit and offered his services as a mobile DJ at weddings, taverns etc. 
Eventually he became a club DJ in Johannesburg CBD and shared the stage with some of the biggest DJ's and artists in South Africa.

Over the years, SIGA 7 has acquired great skill and knowledge about the music industry.

His open mindedness ,will to learn and versatility enables him to DJ at any event or venue  for different crowds and also produce and combine different styles of music in his production.

​

SIGA 7 describes his style of production as  "Alternative Afro House" (a blend of iSgubhu/ Gqom and  Kwaito/Amapiano).

To date Siege Phunk has released over 10 projects (EP's and albums)
